We are going to look at some of the basics of the game as well as some advice on how to approach betting on League of Legends.

League of Legends Game Basics

League of Legends is a fast-paced multiplayer online battle arena game. A match starts with two teams of 5 players who have picked their champions from a selection of over 130 characters who all have unique abilities.

The objective of a match is to destroy the other team’s Nexus, which is not only defended by the players themselves but also some in-game features such as turrets, minions, and neutral monsters. The match is over when one team destroys the others Nexus.

There is a lot of strategy involved as the players all start of relatively weakly with their abilities. To improve this, players must accumulate gold and XP which can then be spent on items which enhance your players abilities. This is where teamplay is crucial and the cohesion between esports teams can make a huge impact on the result of a game.

Popular Betting Markets

Match Winner – The most frequent and easy to understand market. Here you are required to simply pick the team you think will destroy the other team’s Nexus and win the match.

First Baron or Dragon – This is a bet where you choose which team will kill the first Baron or Dragon. Both the Dragon and Baron are computer-controlled enemies who are neutral and can be killed by either team. Killing one of the Barons or Dragons rewards the player with gold and XP and can improve that players abilities.

First Inhibitor or Tower – On each map there are lanes where you can kill inhibitors and towers with the reward being gold and XP to improve your character. This bet is simply choosing which team you think will kill one of them first.

Outright Winner – This market relates to tournaments and is asking you to choose which team you think will go on to win the tournament.
